Service Dog Training

I have been training service dogs since 2014 and am a service dog handler myself. Katie's Canine Connection offers training based on each individual handler and dog's needs.

Offered Programs

Program prices are based on one on one private training.
Group rates offered for multiple participating handlers.

Full-Service Program

$7,500

The full service program is a 16 week course designed for clients who either already have a dog that has passed an evaluation and is 10 months or older or are getting a dog through the canine partner program. This program teaches each student everything a service dog handler needs to know and more and includes but is not limited to the following:​

  • Canine handling skills

  • Canine husbandry

  • Canine Communication

  • Basic to advanced obedience

  • House manners

  • Service Dog etiquette

  • Service Dogs and the Law

  • Task training specific to your disabilities

  • Non-pet friendly public access training

Add On: Canine Partner Program

$500

Don't have a dog yet and need help finding one? Katie's Canine Connection will help you in finding a suitable service dog prospect to train and participate in either the full service program or foundations program through advanced task training. This fee is for Katie's Canine Connection service and does not cover any purchasing fee for a dog or any subsequent fees related to the purchase of a dog.

Is Katie's Canine Connection Right for You?

  • I am at least 18 years old.

  • I have at least one diagnosed disability that limits one or more major life activities.

  • I am physically able to handle the strenuous hands on training of a dog.

  • I have the financial stability to care for and meet a dog's mental and physical needs.

  • I have reliable transportation.

  • I have reliable internet access.

  • I am able to commit enough time and energy to daily training sessions and weekly meetings.

Is Katie's Canine Connection Right for Your Dog?

Having a dog before applying for a program is not required.

  • My dog is between 10 months and 4 years old.

  • My dog has the proper temperament for service work and does not have any aggressive tendencies. 

  • I have a letter from a veterinarian clearing my dog as healthy for work.

  • My dog has all age appropriate vaccines including Rabies and Distemper.
